Privacy Policy

Your letter is checked on your device and is never uploaded. This policy explains the little we do collect, why, and how you stay in control.

Last updated 26 October 2026. Operated by Loopmerce LLC. Questions: hello@edmilia.com

How your data is handled

Stays on your device

  • The text of your letter and any file you open
  • University, programme and subject names you type
  • Your notes, answers and checklist
  • A saved draft, only if you switch it on

What we receive

  • Your email address and the choices you make when you give it
  • If you accept: which issues the checker found, as anonymous counts, to improve it
  • Optional feedback, only if you send it

We never sell your data, never show advertising, and never use your letter to train any system.

Who we are

Edmilia Letter Check is a free tool from Edmilia, operated by Loopmerce LLC, a limited liability company registered in Wyoming, USA (“we”, “us”). We decide how the information described here is used. You can reach us at hello@edmilia.com.

Your letter and files

Pasted text and files are read and checked by your browser, on your own device. PDF and Word files are opened in your browser’s memory to extract the text; the file is not uploaded or stored. Password-protected and scanned files are not opened.

We never receive your letter, any sentence or phrase from it, your file names, your notes or the university and programme names you type. This is true whatever you choose in the cookie notice.

What we collect

Your email address

Before your first results, we ask for your email address and your agreement to these terms. We store the address, the date, the version of the terms you accepted and whether you asked to hear about new tools. It is not linked to your letter or to your check results.

Anonymous check results (only if you accept)

If you choose “Accept” in the cookie notice, each completed check sends one small record so we can see which problems are most common and improve the checker. It contains:

  • a random number, used only so the same check is not counted twice;
  • the date and time;
  • document type, degree level and destination (Italy, Germany or other);
  • whether the letter was pasted or opened from a PDF or Word file, and its length range (for example 300 to 599 words);
  • the names of the checks that found an issue, with their priority, and the checker version;
  • if a file could not be read, the type of problem (for example a scanned PDF).

It never contains your email, your letter or anything that identifies you. If you choose “Essential only”, nothing is sent.

Feedback you choose to send

If we ask whether the checker helped, your answer and any comment are stored only when you tick the consent box. Please do not include personal details in a comment.

Technical data
